Christmas is almost here and it’s a good chance to think about your Christmas table decor ideas! One of the things I look forward to most at this time of year is gathering with friends and family around the dining table and spending time chatting, eating and drinking together. We always spend a little extra care over our cooking at the Christmas period and it’s the same with our Christmas table settings too.
I think that the Christmas dinner is the most important meal of the year – whether that’s on Christmas Day as in the UK and US or on Christmas Eve as on most of the Continent. Why spend so much time over the cooking and not have the atmosphere while you eat. So pay some attention to your table – I did some decorating with ivy over on this post – Stylish dinner party accessories
Christmas table decor ideas
First up we’ve got this cosy cottage chic look going on at Houseology. The pale grey tones add a modern touch and keeps the dining table fresh rather than chintzy. I just love these Villeroy and Boch wine goblets! The silver and grey dining table look so easily could become ‘footballer’s wives’. But the linen table cloth brings it back down to earth as does the sprigs of eucalyptus. I couldn’t find the champagne bucket pictured – it must have sold out, but you can pick up this similar ice bucket.
1. OH Maison ice cup £96.50 | 2. Nkuku etched glass t-light £5.95-£59.95 | 3. Nyblom Kollén Max tablecloth £37.50 | 4. Villeroy and Boch wine goblets £14.95
I couldn’t resist including one more Christmas table decor ideas from Houseology. I loved both of these festive tables so much! I’m such a sucker for Tom Dixon and I love these geometric brass tea holders. Match brass and gold with matt black for a dramatic and luxurious scheme. But don’t be afraid to add a pop of colour in this scheme also. Some bottle green would look fab on this table – perhaps an ivy garland down the middle of the table. If you’re looking to mix and match your dining chairs take a look at my top tips – Mix and match dining chairs
1. Tom Dixon geometric tea light holder £50 | 2. Wedgwood Arris wine glass £80 | 3. Black table runner £14 | 4. Brass fork £9 | 5. Wedgwood Arris octagonal plate £45
Another favourite brand of mine is the White Company and I love the simplicity of their style. Hanging a Christmas wreath from the ceiling is a fabulous way to make a statement with your Christmas tree. Although just be careful no to set it on fire by placing candles too close!
1. Fir and snowberry wreath £100 | 2. Artisan stoneware dinner plate £12 | 3. Luxury crackers £35
Scandinavian style has been inspiring designers at Amara for years. The mixture of simplicity, colour and links to nature can be seen everywhere in the UK now and not least of all, on your Christmas dinner table… To achieve this look, less is more – but what you do put on the table, make sure it makes a statement! Forget the table cloth, pair everything back and keep it rustic.
1. Iitala porcelain bowl £23.50 | 2. Bloominville gold votives £33| 3. Blue candles £3 | 4. Iitala porcelain bowl £22
I hope this gave you loads of Christmas table decor ideas! And have a wonderful Christmas too : )
