Preparing your garden for Spring is a bit of an obsession of mine! I guess it goes back to when I lived in Cyprus and getting the outside space ready was a bit of a ritual. But then we practically lived outside for most of the year and so this is no surprise! I’ve already blogged about garden shelter ideas and how to make the most of your outdoor space, even when it’s raining! I’ve covered garden lighting and how a lick of paint can transform your garden. I’ve also blogged about so many pretty garden accessories and furniture ideas – but I wanted to do a post about some more practical outdoor Spring updates.
Before I had a partner and a child, I didn’t realise just how much easier life was! I didn’t need a huge amount of storage and all I needed in the garden was a little table and chair set to sit with a glass of wine in the evenings. That all changed once the little one came along – now there are discarded muddy wellies all down the side alley, footprints through the hallway, toys EVERYWHERE! Not to mention the sand being everywhere but in the sandpit… you get the picture!
This welly boot holder from the Handpicked Collection is perfect for storing wellies. Reduced to just £18 now too, it’s ideal to keep those boots from flopping over and getting creepy crawlies from getting inside! If you’re out and about a lot at this time of year with the April showers, you’ll know how much you need the wellies but they really need somewhere to be stored. If you’re not fortunate to have a boot room (my fiancé is designing one at the moment for a client), then a welly boot holder like this an ideal first step in preparing your garden for Spring! The little one was so excited, he insisted on getting his wellies on even though it was bed time…
Just tidying up your boots and wellies isn’t always enough to try and get your garden Spring ready. It’s good to think about other things lying around and how you could store them away instead. If you don’t have space for a shed, you can use wall units and hooks to hang up bikes, brooms, rakes etc. Garden benches with storage under the seat is another clever way to hide stuff when you don’t need it! That’s the next thing on my list ; )
If you’re really looking for the ultimate stylish garden and you don’t have a tight budget – then check out the Garden Glory range. It’s a Swedish brand aimed for ‘everyone who won’t settle for the ordinary’ and I love LOVE their fashion inspired garden style…
And finally…some of my top picks for preparing your garden for Spring. I love the new range of outdoor cushions from John Lewis – a great way to get some comfort outdoors.
