The idea for this interior design blog came to me on Valentine’s day 2014. I was sat in a café in Windsor with my son and partner and along the wall there were all this mix of beautiful traditional and modern cuckoo clocks. Each cuckoo clock was unique, from a different designer but the impact of them all grouped together is beautiful. So I thought how great would it be for there to be an interior design blog where you could find items grouped by style or type rather than having to trawl through various shops to find what you’re looking for… so I decided to set one up myself…
You may recognise some of the more modern cuckoo clocks from the picture above in my mood board below! The blog will inevitably adapt in the future as I’ve got so many ideas, but for now and in honour of this creative café in Windsor, here are my top beautifully modern cuckoo clocks:

Cuckoo clocks traditionally have a pendulum and a distinctive ‘cuckoo’ call of the bird as the clock strikes on the hour. Of course no cuckoo clock is complete without a little bird popping out of it’s hideaway! Some of these modern cuckoo clocks don’t have pendulums and each has it’s own unique style. I love how many different colours all these modern cuckoo clocks come in! The general theme running through the modern cuckoo clock design is a more simple and minimalist style compared to the traditional cuckoo clocks from the 18th century. As modern as these cuckoo clocks are, they’re bound to make a statement in your home!
