The White Company – Spring/Summer refresh

The White Company SS16

Just before I headed off to Edinburgh at the beginning of March, I was invited along to The White Company SS16 preview in London. Two floors of beautifully styled White Company products, stunning flowers, prosecco and nibbles – how could I refuse!?

I love The White Company and feature them often on my moodboards. Their simple and yet beautifully designed and crafted products are timeless. You’ll never worry if you buy something from The White Company, that it’ll go off trend the next season – they aim to create products that’ll be as beautiful and relevant now as they will in years to come.

For a cool, calm and serene bedroom – The White Company bed linen is the way to go. The trick to adding interest when only using one colour in a scheme is to layer it up! Use different textures and patterns to give that interior designer style to your bedroom. And whatever anyone says… you can never have too many cushions…

How cute is this space-themed children’s bedding from The White Company? Ideal for layering up with items from their other ranges to create a fun space for children. Superb quality too and they’ll stand the test of bed-jumping and all the other strains that kids put their bed linen under!

My first Saturday job was in a garden centre and I love flowers – I just wish I could grow my own! Linda Cottee did a great job putting together all these beautiful vases of flowers for the PR event. It’s even given me some ideas for my upcoming Wedding (we only booked it at the weekend!). I love the anemones she used and it inspired me on some Wedding bouquet ideas I’ve been pinning on this Stylish Weddings board. Using different sized glass vases and filling them with simple white flowers is so effective and make a fab centrepiece.

Speaking of centrepieces…

How amazing is the styling on this table? If The White Company ever throw a garden party – I want to be there! To get this look – keep it simple. Linen table runners and napkins, simple white plates, wooden servers and a whopping statement centrepiece for the perfect touch. Simple white bunting and string lighting will add the party atmosphere to your garden or patio area. Take a look at the full range of tableware from The White Company.

Outdoor lighting is a great way to create atmosphere and add impact. Combining overhead string lighting and candlelight on tables or in lanterns on the floor is a really good way to get the perfect ambiance. If you don’t have any string lighting, you can hang lanterns from a tree – these will cast fantastic shadows and give that magical feeling you want in your garden.

One day, I’d love to have my own bathroom – free of bath toys covering every surface! Bathtime means something entirely different once you have children… and there’s nothing more luxurious than a rolltop bath, some fabulous home spa products, candles, flowers and a glass of wine! With our lifestyles getting busier, taking the time to relax has never been more important. When I do get the rare chance to fill up a bath and not have a toddler jump in before me – I make the most of it!

I’ll never forget one time that my sister ran me a bath – my son was 9 months old and I hadn’t had a full night’s sleep for that long! I drove up to Oxford for the weekend and she took one look at how exhausted I was.  She ran me a bubble bath in her rolltop bath, handed me a glass of wine and an iPad with Easternders recorded and said ‘I’ll watch the little one’. I could have cried – it was just what I needed!

Back to The White Company SS16 press event – I couldn’t resist having a look through all the Spring and Summer clothing and accessories. I’d love to be styled one day as I’m so much better with interiors than fashion. I’ll leave that up to Sarah Delaney – you can read her post on how to style the SS16 looks for The White Company.
