It took me a while to find my voice, but becoming a Best Newcomer finalist at the Amara Interior Blog Awards was a huge step for me and gave me the confidence to be braver with my blog. I launched BritishStyleUK earlier this year as I needed a creative outlet. I thought I’d join the skills I’d accumulated from 10 years in Marketing, digital communications and social media with my love of interiors. And then on Valentine’s day 2014 the idea for the blog came to me (more on that here).
I couldn’t make the swanky Awards do though as I had to be in Manchester for my day job, so my wonderful mum and boyfriend went along in my place. The Awards were held at the swanky Rosewood hotel in London on the 5 November 2014. You can take a look at all the finalists and winners here.
It was a wonderfully glam evening and a great chance for bloggers to meet each other offline! We were also given these fab gift bags filled with stylish treats to take home.
A newcomer is considered to have a blog less than 18 months old so I may make the Amara Interior Blog Awards shortlist again next year!
