Beautiful homewares from Beautify

In celebration of the newly launched Beautify website, I’ve chosen a few of my favourite pieces to style. It’s been a while (like AGES) since I’ve struggled to choose just a few items to review from a brand. Beautify is one of those homeware brands where everything is fabulous, affordable and just so instagrammable! I ended up narrowing my selection down to the navy velvet storage trunk stool, matching navy velvet cushion and the grey herringbone throw. But I was so so tempted by the extensive range of acrylic makeup storage and dressing table mirrors. As a busy Mum of 2.5 (baby no. 3 due in March!), my grooming routine has been stripped right back to basics. My thinking was that by having a properly kitted-out dressing table would make it so much easier and quicker to get ready. But that plan is going to have to wait as I just had to have this trunk stool! Plus, getting real for a minute… I’m winning by just getting us all washed, dressed and to the school gates on time in the mornings!

So why is this my favourite piece from Beautify? Well, not only does it look super stylish – it’s also a really adaptable and durable piece of furniture. This soft padded trunk is the ideal height for a dressing table as well as a footstool in the living room (how handy would that drawer be for the remotes and secret choccy stash!?). The legs are really easy to remove if you wanted to lower the stool for a child’s bedroom. I’ve styled it as a bedside table in my small cottage bedroom. It’s the perfect size and blends in beautifully with my Farrow & Ball Stiffkey Blue walls. Blending furniture, shelving or hiding radiators into the walls is a clever way to make a space feel larger. How gorgeous is this grey herringbone throw? With the cold winter nights drawing in (far too fast for my liking!), I simply couldn’t resist it. A faux fur throw is one of those super easy seasonal updates that really help you to embrace the chilly evenings. I’ve even been taking it downstairs to cosy up with the kids on the sofa! The contrast in textures between the faux fur blanket and velvet cushion adds instant cosy vibes as well as harmony to the bedroom. Both velvet and faux fur have a strong physical textural appearance – you don’t need to touch them to know how they feel. The stronger the sense of texture, the more luxurious a space appears. And this is exactly the cosy winter look that I’ve been aiming for.
