We all know that kids have the best imaginations, so why not let them choose their own kid’s room interiors? It can be so difficult to put yourself in the mind of a little one to come up with a theme for their bedroom. Letting them choose the paint colour, bedding, furniture etc. is a great way to set their creativeness free and give them a sense of responsibility too! Let them browse through catalogues or websites and point out what they like. Give them paint and wallpaper samples and let them choose!
As a mum myself, I know the frustrations us parents go through when our kids turn their noses up at our best efforts! So collaborating on your kid’s room is a great way to come to a happy medium. Although don’t be afraid to set boundaries, especially if their ideas are totally unpractical (no you can’t use the trampoline as a bed) or you’re working to a tight budget!
To help you get going, Made.com have revealed their 7 top of the tots products for a kid’s room. These are the items that have been chosen by kids, for kids…
1. Iso Cloud Cushion £15 | 2. Pipkin Fox Cushion £29 | 3. Linus High Bed £499 | 4. Mini Stroller Desk £229 | 5. Brights Cotton Bed Set £39 | 6. Cara Toy Box £99 | 7. 2 x Mini Kitsch Chairs £45
I think the kid’s room choices are spot-on and both practical and super-cute (the cushions). You’d just need to add some colour to the walls and some arty prints too. Wall stickers are a great option if you don’t want to change the walls – especially if you’re renting your home!
What’s your favourite item on this list? I think mine is the cloud cushion… very scandi cool : )
