Lombok furniture and home accessories use different styles, materials and finishes of wood to create something quite unique. Lombok support the Trees for trees project in Indonesia. This scheme helps to regenerate forests in Indonesia and educates local community education programmes. Any product items sold with the Trees for trees logo come with a unique reference number so customers can track where their trees have been planted! Lombok ensure that all the wood is sourced responsibly, legally and with the utmost respect for the environment. They also use reclaimed old wood where possible which brings bags of personality and character to furniture. I’ve selected some of my personal favourites below to show you just a sample of what they offer.
Lombok’s reclaimed teak comes from old Javanese houses. Much development is taking place on the island to replace and upgrade housing and Lombok are using this timber rather than letting it be destroyed. The colourful reclaimed floorboards go through a seven step production process in Lombok’s central Java factory. Once the timber is cleaned of paint it heads to the mill, where skilled artisans start to hand cut the floorboards to size. I love the thought that a piece of furniture that you own has so much history!
