January seems to be the month of the year that we focus most on our happiness. It’s the month where most of us book our summer holidays, make plans for the rest of the year, start looking for new jobs as well as reflect on our own mental wellbeing. With blue Monday falling on the third Monday of January – the day reported to be the most depressing of the year. We seem to be more mindful not to fall into unhappiness in January over any other month. Aristotle believed that our goal in life is achieving happiness through having a purpose – the pursuit of happiness. But I guess half the challenge is finding out what our purpose is!
I wonder if we can have several purposes in life – I mean we all wear several hats don’t we? But if we can find just some happiness in everything we do, then perhaps we would all be much happier. Focusing on what we do have, rather than what we don’t and being more mindful in our daily lives. Appreciate those who make you happy and let go of those who don’t. Take time to get in touch with loved ones – grab a coffee, and just be happy in each others’ company.
As part of a big campaign launched on blue Monday (or should that be #blooMonday), bloo, the leading bathroom care brand were on a mission to spread happiness in London. Camped out by St Paul with a giant perfumed loo, giveaways and armfuls of tulips – the bloo team set out to cheer up London. They have a great competition running too so keep reading to find out more…
Surprised passers by were asked to write down their ‘blue Monday’ and flush it away down the gigantic fiberglass loo. Complete with pink water – the giant loo released a happy fragrance from the bloo range every time it was flushed. Naturally, there was live blues music too! For those that weren’t in London, there’s a chance to win a £1000 holiday voucher (ends 23:59 1 February 2016).
Stay happy – but not just for January : )
