I’ve been a closet fan of Sainsburys homeware for years now – I can’t help but pick up an item or two when I’m doing the weekly shop! My bedside lamps (and some of the cushions) from my old bedroom were from the Sainsburys homeware range. They got a little battered from the move and so it was about time I replaced them! Last week, Sainsburys got in touch to let me know about their new ‘High Summer’ range and offered me some items to take a look at – I chose a pair of bedside lamps, some floral bedding with a large cushion and a green glass vase.

I absolutely love these new bedside lamps! The shade can be angled so you can change the light direction if you’re reading, doing your makeup etc. This cream lamp is perfect for a study or living room too – a really classic shape with a contemporary finish. The brass neck complement the rest of the décor in my bedroom and is so on trend right now. The cream enamel shade brings some freshness to the room.
I’m so thrilled with the Sainsburys homeware bedding too. For just £25 for the duvet cover and a pair of pillow cases, it’s brought a breath of fresh air into my bedroom. Colourful flowers in full bloom is a huge part of British high summer so why not bring a touch of it into the bedroom too? My top tip when choosing bedding is to make sure if complements the rest of the bedroom. If you have patterned wallpaper, then patterned or floral bedding can clash. Bold, dark bedroom walls allow what ever you place near them to really pop out.

Large floral embroidered cushion
I chose this striking green glass vase as I just loved the colour and the detailing on it. I had some dried eucalyptus and silk anemonies that I’d salvaged from my wedding bouquet (I tried to dry it out but it all went wrong). I wanted to keep them by the bed to give me a reminder of the most amazing day we had : ) This large floral cushion has some embroidery detailing on it too. I chose it as the dark blue colour ties in the bedding with the rest of the bedroom.

And the best thing is that I did this shoot just before flying off to Cyprus on our familymoon so I have fresh bedding to come back to! I’m a bit funny about cleaning the whole house before I go away! I’ve heard about a lot of pre-holiday rituals though and I’m hoping mine isn’t too bad!
