New home project: Toddler’s bedroom

Toddler's bedroom
We’re finally in our new home and spent last weekend decorating my toddler’s bedroom. All house moves are stressful, and even more so when moving with a little one. It can be a confusing time and it takes a while for children to get used to a new environment. So we focused on decorating our toddler’s bedroom first in the hope that it’ll help him to settle in. I also took the plunge with vlogging (video blogging) as more people were telling me to give it a try. So I decided to do a video talking about the brief and showing the products I chose…

It took two days do decorate and get all the final pieces up – partly because one of us was always having to entertain the three-year old! It’s still not quite finished, as I have big BIG plans for the other wall which will involve lots of sample paint pots and some gold glitter….

But in the mean-time, here’s another video of us transforming this toddler’s bedroom…

And here’s the final look!! I’m so pleased with the result – it turned out just as I’d hoped! The little one loves it too and promptly introduced each and every toy to their new bedroom ; )

A top tip for linen curtains is to wash them twice and dry them out in between before trimming the length as linen shrinks in the wash!

These beautiful prints were a gift from Down at the River and they’re the perfect finishing touch to this playful and fun toddler’s bedroom. Prices start at £2.10 for an unframed print and they have a lovely selection of colourful frames to choose from too. Don’t they look great against this wallpaper?

The wallpaper that I originally had wanted was pretty steep at £75 a roll – I couldn’t justify the cost especially since there’s bound to be sticky hand prints and crayon drawing on the walls before long! And then I found this fantastic birch tree wallpaper in Homebase… for £12.99! In fact, I do need one more roll to finish behind the door so must remember to order online…

I hope you like my toddler’s room makeover as much as we all do! Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think?
