Just before Christmas, I was invited to my boyfriend’s work Christmas dinner at the Rhinefield House Hotel in the New Forest (part of the Handpicked Hotels group). I visit the New Forest quite regularly as I’m learning to sail down there, but I’d never visited Brockenhurst and so I was really excited to get away for a night just before Christmas.
I arrived in the early afternoon as I didn’t fancy navigating through the forest in the dark, but surprisingly found Rhinefield House very easily and took no wrong turns which is quite a feat for me! As you drive down some winding country roads (avoiding cows and ponies), you turn the final corner and Rhinefield House Hotel appears…
My boyfriend is an architect and completely obsessed with windows and so I knew he’d love this place! I arrived before everyone else and so my plan was to have a little look around, find a cosy spot, order a G&T and spend a couple of hours blogging before they arrived.
And I really wasn’t disappointed…
After checking in, we were shown to our room. It was a lovely room overlooking the gardens, bright, clean and neutral – what more could you want from a hotel room? TV in the bathroom perhaps? Oh why the heck not…
After a bubble bath whilst watching Come Dine With Me, we had a drink in the lounge and greeted the rest of the party before heading to our private dining room for supper…
Rhinefield House Hotel is a gem of a getaway venue nestled in the heart of the New Forest and a great hotel to use as a base for exploring, or simply to relax in the spa before indulging in an afternoon tea. The staff were all very welcoming and our dinner was delicious so a big thank you for taking such good care of us during our short stay!
