There’s such an amazing buzz around Wimbledon that there’s so surprise that there’s some Wimbledon inspired interiors, furniture and jewellery out there! I love Wimbledon. Not just the tennis, but the town too – so much so that I’ve worked there for the past five years! During the Wimbledon Championships there’s a fantastic buzz, people heading up to the tournament with bubbly and strawberries. It’s the oldest tennis tournament in the world and many say, the most prestigious. Every year I enter the ballot for tickets, but no luck so far – one day hopefully I can go along!
In dedication to this wonderful sporting event, I’ve matched (pardon the pun) some beautiful items and Wimbledon inspired interiors – hope you like it!
The Hove club chair by Cameron Fry and the Liqui Studio (there’s also a matching sofa) takes a traditional style that is loved and gives it a modern twist. The wide set arms give a comfortable feel for a relaxing experience and would make a great feature item in any space. Upholstered in hemp and available in various colours, this chair is perfect for any Wimbledon fans.
Perhaps you fancy some tennis racket wallpaper? Available in two colour options, vintage (a cool taupe) and natural (an electric green). With both options, the bats and balls fade into geometric shapes providing the perfect backdrop for the sporty and design conscious.
The Wimbledon vibe is all about celebrating British summer – ice creams, Pimms, fish and chips and salads. If we’re lucky enough to have some sunshine, we love to eat outdoors either in our garden or on a picnic blanket in the park. When I can get down to the coast, you can’t beat sitting on a wall with chips covered in salt and vinegar!
Not strictly interiors-related, but I just had to include these super cute tennis balls, strawberries and prosecco… all made from chocolate! A great gift idea for a tennis fan – or even to pack into your hamper on Murray Mound!
