Bring character to your garden with Mia Fleur

Mia fleur

Mia Fleur got in touch as we’ve both been nominated in different categories for the Amara Interior Blog Awards #IBA14 and I love their range of interior and exterior home products. (We bonded on twitter over a love of hydrangeas!) Mia Fleur is run by Mum Jacqui and her two daughters Hollie and Amelia and everything they sell is party designed by the trio or sourced from other British designer makers.

It’s so easy to add your own personal touch to your garden. Whether it’s reflecting your personality through the colour and types of flowers and plants you use or through your garden accessories. If you have a creative streak you can upcycle old garden furniture or paint your pots to inject some character into your outdoor space. I’ve blogged before about bird boxes and feeders with style and there are so many ways to add some personality into your garden.

As well as stylishly eccentric home accessories, furniture, textiles and gifts – Mia Fleur also do a fab range of garden accessories with personality. Here are some of my favourite items from their website:

Hollie sent me their bird on a ball garden ornament last week to review and it arrived carefully wrapped in a box. The ornament comes in two separate sections, but the cage piece just screws straight onto the base and took no longer then about 10 seconds to assemble.

An ornate latch at the front opens the top half of the wire ball allowing you to put a small plant or candle inside. I chose to put a blue Aster inside as it flowers well into Autumn and I want to make the most of this lovely garden ornament. Whatever plant you choose to put inside, I can imagine that it’ll look better and better as the plant grows filling the space inside and sprouting through the wires. Next year when my Astor flowers again, the flowers should all be peeking out above the wire giving the illusion of the bird sitting on top of a purple ball of flowers. Trim stray stems and dead flowers to keep a spherical shape.

I can imagine this ornament would look wonderful with a candle nestled in a bed of ivy for Christmas too – a fab look for your doorstep to welcome in guests! It’s a great little addition to any outdoor space if you’d like to add some character to your garden.
