Rustic cottage garden pots and containers

Birchwood planter from the RHS

Spring has sprung! The daffodils are out, the lawn needs mowing… it’s time to get the garden furniture out because the warmer weather is on it’s way!

Admittedly, I’m not an experienced gardener… I have more enthusiasm then talent. I end up poking around in the garden pots trying to remember which ones I planted bulbs into! Rustic cottage garden pots are such a great way to add more colour and character into your garden.

I always say that my garden is rustic – a great excuse for it not being perfect. And I’ve been on the hunt for some lovely rustic garden pots and planters to bring in that feeling of a cottage garden. My favourite are the set of three steel garden planters (£50 from Amara for the set), they’d look fantastic on any patio or terrace.

The Wootton features antiqued iron metal handles and brass detailing, with an aged iron finish to add to the authentic feel. It also has thicker walls to ensure that plants are protected from getting too hot or too cold. This planter is watertight and undrilled, but can be easily drilled for drainage.
