This blog post started off as a feature on Andrew Martin furniture – described as the barometer of style for our era. I loved that their pieces are designed to stimulate your imagination by transporting you to another culture, time or place. The aim of creating a feeling of escapism from ordinary life through your home really resonated with me. I was half-way through writing the piece before I went off for a weekend break and returned to the announcement that Andrew Martin (the man behind the brand) is a judge for the Amara Interior Blog Awards in which I’m a humble finalist.
As I’d already written a post recently featuring Farrow & Ball (another judge), I thought it was best to re-write this post so I wasn’t seen as trying to bribe the judges! The big judging day has passed now and so as with all my blog posts, everything I feature here is because I think it’s beautifully designed.
Leather features strongly throughout the Andrew Martin range – it’s comfortable, durable and timeless. Leather is easy to clean and ideal if you have children or pets – a leather store in Florence once gave me a tip to clean leather with plain hand cream and a soft cloth and it seems to do the trick! Good quality leather also ages well and has a timeless quality about it. So I’ve put together my favourite leather furniture and home accessories below – I hope you like them!

I particularly like these beautiful leather-topped, solid wood table featuring intricate wax-thread stitched brogue detailing.Traditionally used in shoe production, brogueing is an instantly recognisable detail that resonates with our passion for intricate craft-based techniques. They are designed by Welsh-born Bethan Gray and are produced using high-quality top grain leather, which has been treated to give a durable finish. The brogue range is available in a range of colours and size and base options and can work as a side, coffee, bedside or lamp table.
