I’ve been pinning pics recently for a yellow and grey child’s bedroom – this is a project close to my heart as it’s for my own son. He’s been asking for a ‘lello bedroom’ for a while now, but since he turned 3 (going on 13) he’s insisting on a big-boy bed also! Because his bedroom is quite small, there wouldn’t be space for a single bed as well as storage for clothes and toys. It’s been a bit of a dilemma as I don’t want to have to keep all of his toys in the living room. (Update – you can see my son’s finished toddler bedroom redesign here).
I feel the yellow and grey child’s bedroom mood board that I put together below is perfect for a boy or a girl’s bedroom – or a shared bedroom! Creating a neutral nursery or child’s bedroom means that it’ll have more longevity and they’re less likely to grow out of it quickly. One thing to note is that Farrow & Ball’s Lamp Room Gray has only got one review over on Homebase – and it’s not a good one. But I love this colour – so much so that I used it on my own bedroom so check 0ut this post for a thorough review: My perfectly tranquil bedroom

Adding personality through prints or stickers on the wall is a cheap and easy way to change the look of the room as your child grows up. Prints such as these are such a great way to add colour and character to a yellow and grey child’s bedroom. Many prints on Etsy are printable – so you buy the PDF and can print it off yourself. You can pick these up for a few pounds and you get instant artwork!

I love it! I think the colour choices are great as well. The yellow will bring some pop of colour while the grey is a nice backdrop. This kind of scheme is great for a boy because it will past for a very ling time. You can look at the bed in two ways. One is what you said and paint the walls similar colour so it blends in, or do the complete opposite and embrace it. I did a living/dining room design where there was a pillar in the middle but instead of trying to make it invisible we embraced it and painted in in bright colour to make a feature out of it. It works both ways.
