Nassima Royal Hotel review

On Boxing Day, my husband and I flew out to the Maldives for our honeymoon – stopping over in Dubai for just under 24 hours. So I split our trip into two parts, the first being this Nassima Royal Hotel review and the second; 24 hours in Dubai – what to do. If you’re looking for a blog post on our Maldives honeymoon, you won’t find one unfortunately! The resort was quite disappointing and although I left a thorough review on Expedia, I chose not to feature it on my blog. I made a decision early on in my blogging journey to only feature stylish places that I’d recommend and have had good experiences with and the Nassima Royal Hotel in Dubai is definitely one of them!

Festive décor in the Nassima Royal Hotel lobby

I was immediately wowed by the interior décor of the Nassima Royal Hotel. Beautiful marble softened by sumptuous velvet upholstery. Highly polished wood reflecting in mirrored nestle tables. Pops of warm orange bring some character to the otherwise neutral décor. If you’re a fan of neutral décor and looking for inspiration on how to get the design to look more interesting – this use of mixed materials and textures is spot on! (Also check out my Kelly Hoppen post on Totally Taupe ). Translucent floor-to-ceiling curtains in soft white help with the acoustics with such high ceilings as well as giving the open-plan lobby area some cosier spots to relax in.

We arrived at the hotel super early for check-in, but I’d tweeted ahead to let them know and they said they’d do what they can with availability on the day. The reception staff were so polite and helpful when we arrived that I knew that I was going to leave a good Nassima Royal Hotel review! Our room was being serviced and we were offered a discounted buffet breakfast whilst we waited. I was 4 months pregnant and so I was like ‘show me the buffet!!’.

As soon as our room was ready, we went in and crashed out for a few hours. It was the middle of the night for us – a long flight to Dubai plus we were recovering after the Christmas chaos too! We had some fun and games trying to figure out the automatic curtains, but we finally managed to get them to stay closed!

But first… let’s just take a moment to appreciate this bathroom and loo…

Seriously awesome views…

A bedroom with a view from the 39th floor!

Nassima Royal Hotel review

Our room itself wasn’t opulent, but it was comfortable and clean. All the facilities that you’d expect from a hotel were in the room as well as some beautiful White Company bathroom products which was perfect for freshening up after a flight. After we’d caught up on a bit of sleep, we headed out to explore Dubai. We had less than 24 hours and wanted to make the most of it! Check out the blog post for more… But the bathroom was dreamy – clean modern lines, plenty of marble and floor-to-ceiling class! I would have loved to have filled up the tub and had a long soak – but there was the world’s tallest building to explore!

It was already getting dark when we got back to the Nassima Royal Hotel and we were totally shattered! We had to be up at 2am to check-out and head back to the airport so a few more zzzs were needed! By this point, my body-clock was totally confused – but my baby bump was telling me to eat so thank goodness for 24hr room service! I grew up with Arabic food and the Nassima Royal Hotel has the best room-service menu that I’ve ever experienced – hands down… As well as delicious Arabic food, they also have freshly-made sushi and Western food on the menu too.

Yummy room service!

Having a 24hr stop over in Dubai was such a good idea. I’d recommend to anyone changing flights in Dubai to book yourself into a hotel and chill-out for a bit to break up the journey. I’d definitely recommend the Nassima Royal Hotel too – just 10 minutes drive from the airport and a good base to explore from! We booked our whole trip through Expedia and would definitely go through them again – really easy to compare deals and the best prices that we found online.
