Living room update with Cult Furniture Moda armchairs

Cult Furniture Moda armchairs

It’s taken me almost a year, but I’ve finally replaced our old IKEA armchair for these fab Cult Furniture Moda armchairs! I blogged about being on the hunt for an armchair under £200 in January last year. Our old one was tatty – we’d replaced the cover but it still didn’t look great. It was too bulky in our tiny living room and wasn’t very comfy either… I wanted something simple, modern and elegant to replace it and ideally, not expensive either. So when Cult Furniture got in touch asking if I’d test out a couple of chairs from their Moda range – I knew I’d found just the ones! I’ve always coveted designer chairs such as Eames, Starck and Le Corbusier but could certainly never afford the price-tag! The Cult Furniture Moda armchairs come in a variety of colours and styles. From pastel pink to slate grey – just choose your colour (or colours), choose from a range of leg designs and materials (wood, chrome, gold etc.) and then choose what style of seat you want.

The Cult chairs arrive flat-packed but include the tools you need to attach the base to the seat. I went for the bucket-style chair in black with copper Eiffel Tower-style legs. I’m not going to lie – it wasn’t too easy to put together (and I’m a whizz with IKEA flat-packs), but we got there in the end! Not only do they look fantastic, but they’re super comfortable and sturdy also. For £89 each, they certainly come under budget too! Take a look at these exact chairs on the Cult Furniture website.

We put these together in December and they featured on my Christmas with Homebase post and looked amazing next to the Christmas tree! With furniture reviews, it’s important to me to use the item so I can give thorough and honest feedback. One thing that people always tell us is how comfy these chairs are – they’re really supportive of your back too. My sister even tried to convince me that I only needed one chair, so she could have the other! Nice try…

These Cult Furniture Moda armchairs have certainly brought a cleaner look into our living room. The beauty of armchairs without a heavy base is that they look far less bulky. Being able to see the floor and wall around the chairs makes the space look larger. And we definitely needed that in our tiny cottage living room! These Cult Furniture Moda armchairs are super adaptable also and can be added onto the ends of our kitchen table if we have a couple of extra guests over! In fact these armchairs would look great at the head and foot of a dining table as well as a desk too. Check out my post on how to mix and match dining room chairs for some tips on getting this look spot-on.

Take a look at the full range of Moda chair options and designs – choosing just one is really difficult trust me!

What a quick and easy update to the living room. The great thing about furniture and house decor items is that they can be easily replaced and often cheaply enough for smaller items. The key to having a continuously modern house, is having neutral painted walls that will continue to look fresh and effortless no matter what furniture is placed with it!
